Coda holds court as he regally sits on his throne. This Basenji, often called the "barklass dog," looks innocent but don't let his appearance fool you. His mischievous personality is a trait this breed in known for. Basenji's are catlike in that they are independent in nature. That doesn't mean you can leave them alone. If left on their own they will find just about anything to keep them occupied, pillows, shoes, etc.
Yes, it is true, this breed doesn't bark however they make their feelings known with an odd sound often described as a yodel.

Coda was so hyper, his owners bought his sister ZoZo to keep him company when they weren't home. Coda chooses who his people are. He is very particular about where he is touched. If he doesn't like it he will whip his head around and bite.
They are both so sneaky about food. You pretty much have to create a barrier to keep them away if you are trying to eat. They will be in your lap and snatching bites before you even know it. And don't put your drink down around him!
