When Doug and his wife Angela lived on Bainbridge Island off the coast of Washington, his neighbor John Keller cultivated this stunning flower. John grows and cultivates over 100 different varieties of Dahlias. One year they noticed a new variety coming up right next to their yard. John told them the bloom was indeed new, and he named it “Angela” after Doug’s wife, as she loved the color pink.
This spring a box of bulbs arrived, which they carefully planted in their backyard at their home here in Palencia. Three months later they were overjoyed to see that they now had full blooms of Dahlias.
