"Sunlit Harbor," by Laura Boilini captures a vibrant coastal scene. At the heart of the composition is a striking red boat, peacefully anchored in the shimmering blue waters. The meticulous detail in the boat’s reflection adds depth to the piece. The painting’s backdrop features a lush, green hill, thick with foliage, that transitions seamlessly into a charming village. This quaint settlement with its red-roofed towers, stand out against a bright blue sky filled with delicate, wispy clouds.
The shoreline is a bustling marina, lined with various boats and ships. Bold colors and detailed brushwork enhance the lively atmosphere, making this painting a picturesque depiction of seaside life.
"Sunlit Harbor" offers viewers a moment of serene reflection amidst a vibrant and detailed setting. Although I have never been to Italy, the harbor and red tiled roofs look like some of the photographs I have seen. It doesn't take much to imagine sitting on the boat, a drink in hand, enjoying the beautiful day.
With a bachelors, two masters and a PhD Laura teaches at University of Northern Florida.
In her rare spare time, she paints. She uses oils and acrylics, and likes to paint on unusual surfaces, like seashells, wine bottles and once a large piece of plastic.
You can see these two paintings at Village Square, 701 Market Street.
