Sad puppy eyes.

This adorable Cocker Spaniel by watercolor artist Marcela Hampel is enchanting. She has skillfully used delicate brushstrokes to render the dog's fur. The fur's gentle waves are so meticulously detailed that you can virtually feel the silky strands under your fingers. His irresistibly soulful eyes seem to peer right into your heart with an expression that is both endearing and slightly inquisitive.  

His eyes say pick me up, hold me, love me.

Watercolor is one of the hardest mediums to use, in my opinion.  My respect for Marcela’s work is double fold.  With her extreme attention to details and creativity to her ability to create pieces like this that grab at your heart. She brings every subject to a level that demands respect.
