“Rogue Wave” by Melody Stimpel is a symphony where every color plays its part perfectly blending a stunning interplay between the ocean and the sky. In a whirlwind of vibrant colors, the powerful wave is captured in the split second before it crashes onto the shore. While the wave pulses with raw, untamed force, the backdrop offers a tranquil contrast – a sunset in the hues of orange, pink, and yellow.
Melodye poured this with metallic paints and a resin topcoat. I am fascinated with this process, from simple movements to fast shaking. How can an artist know which way to turn the canvas? My husband tried to argue that pouring wasn’t art. Melodye changed his mind.
